Productivity has always been my primary objective and there are few apps that I use every single day and these apps are part of my routine. Since I am a constant learner, the chances of getting lost or distracted are very likely. I simply use these apps as part of my day such that they help me organize myself. Productivity apps are simply tools that can help you do things efficiently. They help you sort out!

Do you need apps to maintain Productivity?

Absolutely not! A lot of billionaires and successful ones don’t even fall into the 9-hour routine and they will laugh at us for planning so much. If you are a proactive one that you would do all your work within deadline and still have the energy to get creative, these apps are going to mean nothing to you. But if you have been slogging yet feel unproductive, these few ones can help you a bit if not what’s wrong in knowing about some apps.

With no particular order, here are my favorite mac and iPad apps that I use every single day

Notion: The one app I can’t live without. This is my central repository. From resonance calendar to schedules, to-dos, 30-day challenges, I keep recording everything in the notion app. Lovely thing is that this is super customizable and it has a dark mode. The icing on the cake, You can install it on your PC, mac, iPad, iPhone, and log in with the same account. When you leave from one device, you can pick up from there on your other device. All your notes and schedules are sorted out. I will share my notion templates and template ideas in another post sooner.

Notability: Even-though, I can take notes in the notion, when it comes to long notes and blogging, I use notability. The iPad app is so much fun more than the mac app. The iPad app is the best for notetaking if you have an apple pencil. If you love to take freehand notes on an ipad, this is the app for you.

Grammarly: I have never been good with grammar and I usually type fast just because I have to export all ideas and words out of my mind. Unfortunately, when you type fast with no turning back, there’s going be a lot of errors, punctuation issues, blunder, and what not? Even though I try my best to proof read the content before uploading to a blog post, the risk of missing something or incorrect punctuation is high. Grammarly isn’t an app though. It’s just a browser extension or a website where you can simply spell check, grammar check, etc. Helps me a lot!

Mind Node: Wow, You feel like a magician. A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize information. A mind map is hierarchical and shows relationships among pieces of the whole. All your thoughts and ideas can be formed into a tree with branches and stuff. Cool thing is that it’s just a canvas, you can do anything. Business plan, Random thoughts, Blogging ideas. My study plans are always prepared in Mindnode and then the file will be exported to notion.

Flip Clock: A very simple clock app and its full screen. The paid version is about 159 INR. Why the flip clock? I don’t have a desk clock and I don’t notice time very often. Ipad doesn’t support screensaver. This solves all of these problems. A single full-screen clock. I can now not complain that I never saw the time. It’s that big!

Flow (Mac) and Pomodoro (Ipad): The Pomodoro Technique teaches you to work with time, instead of struggling against it. These apps are just stop watch for 25 minutes. Your job: Work for 25 minutes and once the timer goes off, you get a break for 5 mins. Do this sprint multiple times a day and you would have been more productive than ever been.

Duet: Ever since lockdown, I struggled to connect my macbook to an external monitor. The external monitor I currently have is an 8-year-old one and when I connect HDMI to my 2015 MacBook, the screen stutters and I couldn’t use it. Duet came as the rescue. This is a paid app that can extend your iPad as an external monitor. Apple sidecar is kinda same but I love duet. Just connect the MacBook to the iPad using a lightning cable and open the app, BOOM, an external display. Speaking of latency, None whatsoever if it’s wired.

Kindle: Even though Kindle isn’t an app for productivity, I cannot refrain myself from using this one almost everyday. since I started using the Kindle app, my expenses for buying physical books have reduced by half. I have a kindle unlimited subscription and I can just read a lot of free books. It’s simply the best Period! I love to read and I love kindle for keeping my expenses down.

Thanks for reading!
